The vehicle identification number is stamped on the engine compartment shield. Depending on the configuration, the number may also be duplicated on the lower left side of the windshield glass.

Decoding the identification number, for example, X7LLSRAHH5H000000:
- X7L - international manufacturer code;
- L - body type (sedan);
- SR - internal factory designation of the car model;
- A - driver's airbag (4 - without pillow);
- NN - 1.6 l engine (GH - 1.4L engine);
- 5 - code of the model year of the vehicle (table 1.2);
- H000000 - serial number of the body.
Note: A model year is a period, on average equal to a calendar year, during which vehicles with identical design features are produced.

The engine model and number are stamped on the cylinder block boss on the left rear side (next to the oil pressure warning light sensor):
- K7MF710 - engine model (8-valve; 1.6 l, distributed fuel injection system);
- UA00000 - engine number.
