- a driver's frontal airbag with a two-section inflatable chamber of a programmable restraint system;
- a passenger frontal airbag with a two-section inflatable chamber of a programmable restraint system;
- front and rear seat belt pretensioners;
- special front seat belts with a programmable restraint system.
- ECU (75 pin);
- two shock sensors in the central pillars on both sides of the car;
- side airbags (for chest protection) driver and front passenger;
- air curtains (for head protection) the driver and passengers of the front and rear seats;
- side airbags (depending on configuration) to protect the chest of rear seat passengers.
Attention! When installing the front airbags of a programmable restraint system, the operation of the airbags and the seat belts are interconnected. The setting of the programmable restraint system is different depending on whether the seat belts are installed against the airbag of the programmable restraint system or not (Be sure to check the part number of each item before replacing).
On these vehicles, it is strictly forbidden to install seat belts with a programmable restraint system if the place is not equipped with an airbag, or disconnect the airbag connector.
Note. Some connectors are equipped with a new generation locking device. Before disconnecting the connector, be sure to release the latch, and after reinstalling it, check that it is in the correct position. If the connector is not fixed, then power is not supplied to the ignition circuit.
Identification
Vehicles equipped with front airbags can be recognized by:
- by symbols in both lower corners of the windshield, applied by screen printing;
- by inscription «Agbad SRP «(«Airbag SRP) in the center of the steering wheel and on the dashboard.
Vehicles equipped with side airbags can be recognized by:
- by symbols in both lower corners of the windshield, applied by screen printing;
- according to the inscription -Airbag» («Airbag») on the sides of the backs of the front seats:
- according to the inscription -Airbag» («Airbag») on the inner lining of the rear roof pillars.
Vehicles equipped with rear side airbags can be recognized by the inscription «Airbag» («Airbag») on the sides of the backs of the rear seats.
Precautionary measures
Attention! Pyrotechnic systems (seat belt pretensioners, front and side airbags) must be checked with diagnostic tools after:
- a traffic accident during which they did not work;
- theft or attempted theft of a vehicle;
- before reselling the vehicle.
Special fixtures
These systems can be checked using the following diagnostic tools:
- NXR;
- OPTIMA 5800;
- CLIP.
These devices allow you to recognize computer malfunctions or malfunctions in the electrical circuits of the system.
Note. These devices have an additional function to block the electrical ignition circuits before performing any work on the system and thus eliminate the risk of triggering pyrotechnic gas generators.
NXR and CLIP fixtures also have a «Thorough inspection of airbag and pretensioner harnesses», which operates in much the same way as in the case of the XRBAG device.
Attention! It is forbidden to carry out measurements in the circuits of pyrotechnic systems using an ohmmeter or any other electrical measuring device, since there is a danger of the systems being triggered by the operating current of the device.
