Description
Cars are equipped with different types of seat belt pretensioners.
Pretensioners for both front seat belt buckles. They are installed on the sides of the front seats.
Driver's lap belt pretensioner.
Pretensioners on rear seat belt retractors (except for the central seat belt).
Front seat belt pretensioners (lock or waist belt).
The pretensioner includes:
- special seat belt buckle A;
- pyrotechnic gas generator with igniter 8.
Attention! The pretensioner unit is non-disassemblable.
Note: This system is activated when the ignition is turned on.
When triggered, the system pulls the lock back up to 70 mm (maximum).
Note: On vehicles equipped with side airbags, it is not possible to measure the resistance of the seat belt pretensioners with the diagnostic tool. To measure the resistance, use the XRBAG, NXR or CUP tool (wire tester).
