The control system consists of two parts:
- driver control system.
- front passenger control system.
The first includes the basic functions of the air conditioning system. The second allows the passenger to change the temperature setting on their part.
Key (1) defogging/defrosting
When you press the button for the first time, the usual system for protecting the glass from fogging and defrosting is activated. in this case, the entire air flow is directed to the windshield, side windows and front door windows. When you press the button, the left indicator light comes on.
Only on versions with air conditioning, when you press the button again for about 15 minutes:
- both mixing flaps are set to the position of maximum supply of heated air, while the operation in the air flow mixing mode of the heating unit and air distribution on the front passenger side is automatically controlled; - the system is switched to external air intake if the air recirculation mode was previously turned on;
- the fan switches to maximum rotation speed;
- The electric heaters of the rear window and exterior rear-view mirrors are turned on;
- The air conditioning system turns on;
- the right indicator light comes on (in addition to the left indicator light). After 15 minutes the system returns to defog/defrost mode. To turn off the function, press one of the air flow distribution keys 3-4-7 again. When this function is activated, the keys «recirculated air» and «air conditioned» not functional.
Key (2) «summer»
The air flow is directed only to the central and side ventilation nozzles.
Key (3) «winter/mid-season with defogging»
The air flow is distributed between the glass heating nozzles (to prevent fogging and freezing) and openings for heating the feet of the driver, front and rear passengers.
Key (4) «winter/mid season»
The main air flow is directed to the feet of the driver, front and rear passengers; a small amount of air is directed to the heated glass nozzles.
Pen (5) temperature adjustment
In hot weather, to turn on the air conditioning, turn the control knob to the extreme left position, at which the temperature of the air entering the cabin is minimal. To prevent the windows from fogging up in cold and humid weather, turn on the air conditioner and adjust the outlet temperature of the vents using the temperature control. Thanks to the presence of a receiver-dryer in the air conditioning system, dry air is supplied to the cabin, which accelerates the evaporation of moisture from the inner surfaces of the glass.
The knob regulates the temperature on the driver and front passenger sides when the warning light is on (6) or only on the driver's side if the passenger's control panel is activated. To deactivate the passenger side control panel, press one of the air flow distribution buttons 2-3-4 for 2 seconds. In addition, the passenger side remote control is automatically deactivated when the defog/defrost mode is selected (1)
Pen (7) adjusting the amount of air supplied to the cabin
To increase the amount of air supplied to the cabin, you need to move the knob to the right.
When the handle is set to the extreme left position, there is no air supply to the cabin.
Key (8) air conditioning
When you press the switch button, the air conditioner is activated. The air conditioner allows:
- lower the air temperature in the cabin;
- reduce the humidity of the air forced into the cabin (this speeds up the removal of moisture from the inner surfaces of glass).
The compressor clutch is activated when two conditions are met:
- upon user request (when pressing key 8);
- if there is permission to turn on from the injection computer.
Key (9) air recirculation
To achieve maximum air conditioning efficiency, press the button once (9), and the system switches to air recirculation mode. To refresh the air in the cabin and prevent the accumulation of unpleasant smelling substances and carbon dioxide in it, it is recommended to periodically switch the system to operation with outside air supplied to the cabin.
Heating control unit, passenger side
Heating control unit, front passenger side: 1 - temperature controller switch; 2 - temperature control knob
Temperature adjustment is carried out as follows:
- click on the button (1), the control lamp lights up and the temperature control function is activated.
- Turn the knob clockwise to increase the temperature and vice versa.
If the function is switched off, the indicator lamp does not light up and the temperature control on the front passenger side is carried out from the driver's side control unit.
In addition, the passenger side remote control is automatically deactivated when the defog/defrost mode is selected (1)
Cooling a car heated by the sun
Vehicles without air conditioning system
Roll down the windows and start the engine. Open the ventilation nozzles on the instrument panel, press the button (2) «summer», move the handle (5) temperature adjustment to the cold air supply position and move the knob for adjusting the amount of air supplied to the passenger compartment to maximum.
Vehicles with air conditioning system
Roll down the windows and start the engine. Open the ventilation nozzles on the instrument panel, press the keys (2) «summer», turning on the air conditioning system (8) and move the knob for adjusting the amount of air supplied to the cabin to maximum and, for a few minutes, move the knob (5) temperature adjustment to the cold air supply position. Wait a few seconds and close the windows.
Warming up the car interior
Close the ventilation grilles on the instrument panel, press the (4), move the air temperature control knob to maximum and the air quantity control knob to maximum for a few minutes, during which the car engine warms up.
Defrosting mode/ elimination of glass fogging
Vehicles without air conditioning system
Close the ventilation grilles on the instrument panel, press the defogging/defrosting buttons (1). move the handle (5) air temperature adjustment and knob (7) adjusting the amount of air supplied to the cabin to the maximum.
Vehicles with air conditioning system
Close the ventilation grilles on the instrument panel and press the button twice (1) defogging/defrosting of windows, the automatic defogging/defrosting mode will turn on and two indicator lamps will light up. After defrosting/demisting the windows, use the air distribution buttons.
Pollen filter
On some versions of cars, the outside air is cleared of dust particles and pollen before entering the car interior. Both filters are accessible from the engine compartment and must be replaced every 30,000 km, or more often when operating the vehicle in dusty areas. If the supply of outside air into the car interior has decreased, it is necessary to replace the filters without waiting for the normal replacement period.
Heated seats (depending on equipment)
Some vehicle versions may have heated front seats. The heating buttons are located on the outside of the seats.
The heater operation indicator lamp is located in the instrument cluster. The control lamp only shows the function selection, since the system has a thermostat. The system functions only when the temperature inside the car is less than 12°C.
Heated rear window and exterior mirrors (depending on equipment)
The heated rear window and exterior mirrors are activated by a button located on the instrument panel, to the left of the driver. The indicator lamp is included in the button.
Turning off the heating is possible in two ways:
- automatically after approximately 12 minutes of operation;
- immediately by pressing a button
Note. The rear window is defrosted automatically after pressing the defogging/defrosting button (1) or turning on the air conditioning system.
