Removal

Disconnect the battery.

Remove:
  • top engine cover,
  • air filter housing.

Unscrew the nuts (1) of the oil dipstick and neck.

Unscrew the nuts (1) of the oil dipstick and neck.

Set the dipstick tube aside.

Disconnect the connectors (2):
  • pre-heating plugs,
  • injectors.

injectors.

Disconnect the fuel injection pump connectors (3).

Disconnect the fuel injection pump connectors (3).

Loosen the bolts securing the gutter to the fuel distribution rail.

Move the gutter and wire harness aside.

Remove the holders holding the high pressure fuel lines together.

Clean the high pressure fuel line fittings between the rail and the injectors.

Loosen the tightening:
  • nuts securing the high-pressure fuel line to the injector,
  • nuts securing the high-pressure fuel line from the fuel distribution rail side.

Remove the fuel line and dispose of it in the trash.

Close the holes with plugs.

Installation

Parts that must be replaced: high-pressure fuel line between the fuel rail and the injector.

Attention!
  • Before installing the high-pressure fuel line, lubricate the threads of the nuts with a thin layer of oil from the tube included in the kit of new parts.
  • Be careful not to let oil get into the high pressure fuel lines.
  • Do not lubricate high pressure fuel lines supplied without a bottle of oil, these high pressure fuel lines are already lubricated.
  • Remove the plugs immediately before installing the part in place.

Remove the plugs immediately before installing the part in place.

If replacing four high-pressure fuel lines: loosen the fuel rail mounting nuts a few turns (the ramp must move freely).

Remove the plugs.

Insert the high pressure fuel line tip into the injector inlet cone.

Install the high pressure fuel line tip into the outlet cone of the fuel distribution rail.

Tighten the high pressure fuel line nuts by hand, starting with the nuts on the injector side.

Lightly pre-tighten the high pressure fuel line nuts.

Note: The order of installation of high-pressure fuel lines between the rail and the injectors does not matter.

Install the new retainer supplied with the high pressure fuel line.

When replacing four high-pressure fuel lines, tighten the fuel rail mounting nuts to the required torque (28 Nm).

Tighten the nuts of the high-pressure fuel line connecting the fuel rail and the high-pressure fuel pump in the specified order to the required torque (28 Nm):
  • from the injector side,
  • from the fuel distribution rail side.

Note: Tighten the fuel line completely before moving on to the next one.

Install the gutter onto the fuel rail.

Connect the connectors:
  • injectors,
  • glow plugs.

Install the dipstick tube.

Install the dipstick tube.

Tighten the nuts securing the gutter and the dipstick tube to the fuel rail to the specified torque (21 Nm).

Connect the battery.

Fill the system with fuel using a hand fuel priming pump.

Perform a high pressure fuel circuit check.

Install:
  • air filter housing,
  • top engine cover.
