Diesel engine injectors (Renault Duster 1)

Tightening torques
Injector flange mounting bolt	28 Nm
Fuel rail mounting nuts	28 Nm
Nuts for fastening high-pressure fuel lines connecting the fuel distribution rail and injectors	24 Nm
Fuel filler neck and dipstick mounting nuts on the fuel rail	21 Nm

The injectors can be replaced one at a time.

Removal

Disconnect the battery.

Remove:

• top engine cover,
• air filter housing.

Loosen the nuts (1) of the oil dipstick and filler neck.

Move the dipstick tube (2) to the side.



Disconnect:

• glow plugs (3),
• injectors (4),
• connectors (5) of the fuel injection pump,
• fuel drain line connecting the injectors to the high-pressure fuel pump.

Clean the fuel supply and return lines.



Disconnect the fuel supply and return lines (6).



Install plugs on the holes.

Disconnect:

• pressure sensor (7) from the fuel distribution rail,
• the wiring harness from the accelerometer sensor (8).

Loosen the engine wiring (9) and move it to the side.

Remove the filler neck (10) on the fuel rail.



Remove the high pressure fuel lines between the fuel rail and the injectors.



Install plugs on the holes.

Remove the injector flange mounting bolt (11).

Note: When reusing a diesel engine injector, be sure to mark its cylinder assignment.

Remove the diesel engine injector (12).

Note: If the diesel engine injector is blocked, remove it using the tool.

Remove the flame arrester washer.

Note: When blocking the flame arrestor washer at the bottom of the injector well, use the device.

Removal injectors using tools Mot. 921-01 and Emb. 830

Place the tool in the puller

Apply penetrating compound around the nozzle.

Install the inertial puller into the injector.



Remove the blocked injector using an inertia puller.

Installation

Be sure to replace the flame arrester washer in the corresponding injector well.

Cleaning of parts

Attention! It is strictly forbidden to clean the injectors:

• with a metal brush,
• with sandpaper,
• ultrasound.

Be sure to clean the socket of the removed injector.

If you are reusing a removed injector: clean the injector with an injection system cleaning cloth soaked in injector cleaner or brake cleaner.

If necessary, soak the injector nozzle in injector cleaner.

Wipe the injector with a new injection system cloth.

Caution! For any operation, remove the plugs immediately before installing the part in place.

Note: If one or more injectors are replaced, the alphanumeric code (C2I) of the injector and the number of the cylinder in which it is installed must be registered.

Install the nozzle with flange.

Tighten the injector flange mounting bolt to the specified torque (28 Nm).

Install high pressure fuel lines.

Tighten the fuel rail mounting nuts to the specified torque (28 Nm).

Tighten the high-pressure fuel line fastening nuts connecting the fuel rail and injectors in the specified order to the required torque (24 Nm).

Install the groove located on the fuel rail.

Secure the engine wiring to the neck.

Attach:

• the wiring harness from the accelerometric sensor,
• the wiring harness from the fuel rail pressure sensor,
• fuel drain line connecting the injectors to the high-pressure fuel pump,
• fuel supply and drain lines to the high-pressure fuel pump,
• injection pump wiring blocks,
• injectors,
• glow plugs.

Install the dipstick tube.



Tighten the fuel filler neck and dipstick mounting nuts on the fuel rail to the required torque (21 Nm).

Install:

• air filter housing,
• top engine cover.

Connect the battery.

Perform alphanumeric code (C2I) programming (13) of the replaced injector or injectors using the diagnostic tool.



Start the engine.

Check for fuel leaks.
