Wash the car and remove all tar stains. Carefully inspect the bodywork for paint chips and scratches. Pay special attention to surfaces subject to the abrasive action of road dirt - front fenders, wheel arches, hood. Repair any damage found.
Small fresh scratches and chips can be painted over using special spray cans with brushes, which can be purchased at auto shops. More severe damage must be repaired as described in section «Body».
Always keep body vents and drains and pipes fully open to prevent water trapping.
The wax-based underbody protection should be inspected annually, preferably before the onset of winter, when the underbody can be washed without damaging its protection. Any damage to the protective coating must be repaired with a suitable wax-based mastic. If body parts were replaced during the repair, do not forget to restore their anti-corrosion coating, especially in hidden cavities, in order to maintain the overall durability of the body.
