Checking the paintwork and anti-corrosion coating of the body (30,000 km) (Renault Symbol 2)

Wash the car and remove all bitumen stains. Carefully inspect the body for paint chips and scratches. Pay special attention to surfaces exposed to the abrasive action of road dirt - front fenders, wheel arches, hood. Repair all detected damage.

Small fresh scratches and chips can be painted over using special spray cans with brushes, which can be purchased at auto stores. More serious damage must be repaired as described in the section "Body".

Always keep the body vents, drains and pipes completely open to prevent water from getting trapped.

The underbody wax coating should be inspected annually, preferably before winter when the underbody can be washed without damaging the coating. Any damage to the coating should be repaired with a suitable wax mastic. If body parts were replaced during repairs, do not forget to restore their anti-corrosion coating, especially in hidden cavities, to maintain the overall durability of the body.
