Checking the condition of seat belts (30,000 km) (Renault Symbol 2)

Seat belts must be replaced immediately if any faults occur. It is prohibited to disassemble the seat belt tensioner, as the spring may fly out and cause injury.

Check the belts in the following order:

• check the noise of the belt movement, increased noise is unacceptable;
• check the condition of the seat belt tape, abrasions, damage to the tape fibers by sharp objects, fire are unacceptable (cigarette ash burns);
• check the ease of movement, paying attention to the location of the belt strip, twisting of the web is unacceptable;
• if the automatic tensioner does not work (sticks), replace the belt as a set;
• it is permissible to clean the belt only with a soap solution; chemicals must not be used.
