Checking and adjusting the parking brake (30,000 km) (Renault Symbol 2)

The parking brake must hold the vehicle when parked on a steep road slope, at moderate (3 or 4 clicks) lifting the parking brake lever. When lowering the lever, the brake mechanism should not hold the car stationary.

Work order:

raise the rear of the car and place it on stands;
remove the wheels;
adjust the parking brake as described in the section "Brake system";
lower the vehicle and check for proper adjustment on an uphill section of the road.
