Jack up the car and place it on axle stands. Use a handheld flashlight to inspect the underside of the vehicle, paying special attention to the wheel arches. Look for any damage to the underbody coating, which can crack and corrode with age. Also make sure that the wheel arch liners are securely fastened with brackets. If there is any damage to the anti-corrosion coating on the bottom of the car, it should be repaired immediately.
