Follow the towing requirements of the country in which the vehicle is operated.
Never use the drive shafts to attach the towline hook.
The towing eyes can only be used for towing the vehicle on the road. In no case do not hook the cable to the eyelets to remove the car from the ditch or in other similar cases to lift the car directly or with the help of any devices.
The ignition key must be in position «ignition on» to avoid steering lock.
Move the transmission lever to neutral position and release the parking brake.
On vehicles with automatic transmission, set the selector lever to the position «N». Please note that the towing distance of such vehicles should not exceed 50 km at a speed of no more than 40 km/h.
If the towed vehicle does not have a running engine, then due to the inoperative brake booster, more force will have to be applied to the brake pedal to effectively brake.
The towing eye is located in the tool kit in the spare wheel.
Figure 2.21. Installing the towing eye at the front of the vehicle
Figure 2.22. Installing the towing eye at the rear of the vehicle
Threaded hole for towing eye in front (Figure 2.21) car is located in the bumper cutout under the left headlight. To install a towing eye in the rear (Figure 2.22) car, remove the plastic plug in the bumper and screw it into the threaded hole. With the right lever (wheelbrace etc.) tighten the eyelet.
When towing, calculate the speed of the vehicle so that the towing cable is taut to prevent it from being dangerously swept over the wheel.
