Front Wheel Toothed Ring — Removal and Installation (Renault Symbol 2)

Before removing, purchase a new timing ring.

The toothed ring is installed with a press fit on the outer CV joint. The ring is replaced if its teeth are chipped.

Removal

• remove the drive shaft of the corresponding wheel;
• use a powerful puller or press to remove the ring from the outer CV joint.

Installation

• clean the mating surfaces of the ring and CV joint;
• apply anaerobic sealant to the inside of the ring;
• carefully, without distortion, press the ring onto the CV joint;
• install the front wheel drive shaft and check the gap between the sensor and the wheel as described above.
