Rear Door Window Regulator — Removal and Installation


Removal


  • remove the door trim;
  • temporarily install the window handle and lower the window until you have access to the screws that secure the glass to the window regulator bracket;
  • mark the position of the mounting screws on the bracket, remove the screws, lift the glass as far as it will go for better access and secure it with adhesive tape so that it does not fall;
  • on models with power windows, disconnect the wiring connector from the window motor;

  • remove the four mounting screws (two for mounting the window lifter and two for mounting the glass guide channel) (Figure 9.69), carefully remove the window regulator through the hole in the door (Figure 9.70).

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. In this case, do the following:
  • screw in the screws that secure the window regulator bracket to the glass according to the previously applied marks;
  • before installing the door trim, check the functionality of the window lifter by connecting the wiring connector and the battery or temporarily installing the handle;
  • if necessary, the position of the glass in the opening can be adjusted by moving the glass mounting bracket.
