Contents: Oil change 🠛 Filling the system 🠛
When performing work that requires completely draining the cooling system, be sure to flush the system with clean water, blow it with compressed air to remove any remaining water, fill it with coolant, remove air from the system, and measure its actual frost resistance.
The system must provide frost resistance:
- at temperatures up to - 25°C ±2 for countries with cold and moderate climates;
- at temperatures up to - 40°C ±2 for countries with very cold climates.
Note: Before starting work, cover electrical equipment with plastic bags.
Oil change
Remove the expansion tank cap valve.
Open the cooling system by disconnecting the outlet hose from the radiator using the tool (Car. 1363).
Blow out the system by forcing a stream of compressed air through the hole in the expansion tank cap to remove as much fluid as possible.
Filling the system
Flush the cooling system.
Use GLACEOL RX coolant (type D).
Fill the cooling system with fluid using the engine cooling system filling and diagnostic unit (Mot. 1700).

Fill the expansion tank with coolant up to the top edge of the neck.
Tighten the expansion tank cap.
Remove air from the system.
Using approved equipment, measure the frost resistance of the coolant.
Make sure there are no leaks and that the heater is in good working order.
Run the engine at 1500 rpm, increasing the speed sharply to maximum 2-3 times approximately every 2 minutes until the electric fan turns on again.
