Fig. 1.105. Jack installation locations

When using a portable jack, be sure to place appropriate stands under the vehicle (see fig. 1.105).

Attention! The supporting base of the body of this car is protected by special compounds that provide a guarantee against through corrosion for 12 years.

Caution: Do not operate the equipment without rubber support pads to avoid damaging the factory protective coating of the metal.

Warning! Do not lift the vehicle by placing the jack lever under the front suspension arms or under the rear suspension beam.

Caution! To lift the front or rear wheel, use the support points in the places indicated by the arrows in Figure 1.105.

To install the vehicle on stands, lift the vehicle on one side and install stands under the amplifiers provided for installing the standard jack.

Stop the vehicle on a firm, level, horizontal surface (if necessary, place a solid object under the jack support foot), turn on the hazard warning lights.

Apply the parking brake and then the gear (first or reverse) or move the automatic transmission selector to position P.

Ask all passengers to exit the vehicle and stay away from the roadway.

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts using the wheel wrench 1 (fig. 1.106). Position the wheel brace so that the force applied to the handle of the brace points downwards.

Keeping the jack horizontal, position its head at the height of the jack socket closest to the corresponding wheel.

Rotate the jack screw manually to extend the jack and position it so that the support heel partially goes under the car.

Turn the jack screw a few turns to raise the wheel off the ground.

Remove the bolts and remove the wheel.

Place the spare wheel on the hub and turn it so that the mounting holes for the mounting bolts in the hub and in the wheel are aligned. If the spare wheel is supplied with bolts, use them only to secure the spare wheel. Tighten the wheel bolts and lower the jack. Tighten the bolts and contact a Renault dealer as soon as possible to have the bolts checked for tightness (tightening torque: 110 Nm).
