To open the hood, pull handle 1, located to the left of the instrument panel (Fig. 1.96).

Bonnet safety latch

To unlock the lock, pull the latch located behind the radiator grille 1 (Fig. 1.97).

Caution: When working in the engine compartment, remember that the engine cooling fan may turn on if you do not turn off the engine.

Raise the hood, release stop 2 from retainer 3 and, for safety, be sure to insert it into socket 1 on the hood (Fig. 1.98).

Closing the hood



Before closing the hood, make sure you haven't forgotten anything in the engine compartment.

To close the hood, install stop 2 in retainer 3, grasp the center of the front edge of the hood and lower it to a height of approximately 30 cm from the front of the car, then release. The hood will close under its own weight.
