Removal
1. Remove the lower trim panel from under the steering column.
2. Disconnect the cable from the top of the gas pedal by squeezing the tabs on the cable end.
3. Unscrew the nut securing the pivot shaft and the gas pedal bushing to the bulkhead (refer to the accompanying illustration).
4. Remove the gas pedal.
5. Carefully inspect the pedal and pivot axle for signs of wear and replace as necessary.
Installation
1. Install in reverse order. Check the adjustment of the gas pedal cable as described in Section Removal, installation and adjusting the gas pedal cable.
