Note. Clean the crankcase ventilation system before every oil change.
You will need: hex wrench «by 5», flat blade screwdriver, pliers.
1. Remove the air filter (see «Removal and installation of the air filter»).
2. Disconnect the outlet hose of the large branch of the crankcase ventilation system from the branch pipe of the cylinder head cover and remove it.
3. From the second branch pipe of the cylinder head cover, remove the hose of the small branch of the crankcase ventilation system..
4.... disconnect the hose from the intake pipe...
5....and remove it.
6. Remove the cylinder head cover (see «Replacing the cylinder head cover gasket»).
Note. Replace the gasket with a new one each time the cylinder head cover is removed.
7. Wash the system hoses and the inner cavity of the cylinder head cover from deposits from crankcase gases with gasoline or kerosene. Since the block head cover is non-separable (oil deflector riveted to the cover), pour flushing fluid into the cavity between the oil deflector and the cover, shake it in the cavity and drain. Repeat the operation several times until the drained liquid is clean.
8. Clean the openings of the pipes for connecting the hoses.
9. Blow out all elements of the system with compressed air and dry them.
10. Install the cylinder head cover and system hoses in the reverse order of removal.
