Note. Forced regeneration of the particle filter is carried out only after the SERVICE warning light comes on, accompanied by the message: «THE PARTICULATE FILTER MUST BE REGENERATED.» or orange indicator light: «CHECK EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM».
Instructions for performing forced regeneration of the particle filter
Currently, two additional kits are used for exhaust ventilation of exhaust gases of service stations (see garage equipment catalog 2005), certified for use at high temperatures, with forced regeneration of the particle filter.
Two additional kits certified for forced regeneration of the particle filter;
- particulate filter kit for vehicles with one muffler exhaust pipe;
- double inlet pipe kit for vehicles with two muffler exhaust pipes.
Note. During forced regeneration of the particle filter, there is a significant increase in temperature in the exhaust system.
Use one of these two kits. certified for use at high temperatures, with forced regeneration performed at the service station. using this theme of exhaust ventilation of exhaust gases or in the open air.
Make sure that the kit being used does not come into contact with the rear bumper during regeneration of the particle filter.
Features of using a muffler kit with two exhaust pipes
Note. Follow that. so that when using the dual inlet pipe kit 1 on a vehicle with a single exhaust pipe:
- put exhaust ventilation hoses on openings 2 and 3 when performing forced regeneration at a service station;
- direct openings 2 and 3 so that hot exhaust gases do not fall on another vehicle or on people when working outdoors.
Particle Filter Forced Regeneration Procedure (using the CLIP diagnostic tool)
Connect the diagnostic tool to the vehicle.
Note. During forced regeneration of the particle filter, there is a significant increase in temperature in the exhaust system.
Use one of these two kits, certified for use at high temperatures, for forced regeneration performed at a service station, using an exhaust ventilation system, or outdoors.
Make sure that the kit being used does not come into contact with the rear bumper during regeneration of the particle filter.
Attention! Before commanding a forced regeneration, check the engine oil level on the dipstick to prevent engine overrun.
The oil level must be between the marks «MIN» and «MAX» oil dipstick.
Note. If necessary, forced regeneration can be terminated by pressing the engine start button twice in succession.
Note. During the forced regeneration of the particle filter, a large amount of smoke with a strong odor is emitted.
After forced particle filter regeneration using the scan tool:
- deal with the present faults;
- clear stored faults.
Place the car on a two post lift.
Note. Allow the engine to cool before draining the oil.
Remove the oil filter using the tool (Mot. 1329) for F9Q engine, (Mot. 1281-01) for the G9T engine.
Lubricate the gasket of the new oil filter with engine oil.
Screw in the oil filter until the gasket contacts the engine block.
Tighten the oil filter 3/4 turn by hand.
Wipe off any traces of oil.
Remove:
- engine oil filler plug;
- protection of the engine tray;
- drain plug of the engine oil pan using the tool (Mot. 1018) or an 8 mm cap for the drain plug.
Allow the oil to drain completely into an oil collection container.
Install a new gasket (for gaskets with rubber lip, installation direction does not matter).
Note. The drain plug copper gasket is installed with a slot to the plug.
Torque drain plug 20 Nm.
Clean the engine crankcase from smudges of drained oil.
Install the engine undertray.
Fill the engine with oil.
Screw on the oil filler plug.
Wait 10 min.
Check the engine oil level on the dipstick.
If necessary, add oil to the correct level.
Note. The oil level must be between the marks "MIN and «MAX» oil dipstick.
