Removal

• Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery
• Disconnect the hose from the lower radiator tank, unscrew the threaded plug from the cylinder block and drain the coolant.
• Remove the accessory drive belt.
• Remove the bolts and water pump pulley.
• Loosen the water pump mounting bolts on the cylinder block.
• Remove the water pump and gasket.

Note: The water pump cannot be repaired, so if it malfunctions, it must be replaced.

Installation

• Clean the mating surfaces on the pump and cylinder block
• Install the water pump with a new gasket and secure it with bolts.
• Install the water pump pulley and secure it with bolts.
• Install and adjust the water pump drive belt tension.
• Fill the cooling system with coolant.
• Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
