In the cooling system, there is no radiator tap heating system of the passenger compartment. The circulation of the coolant is constantly carried out through the radiators of the heating system, which thus participate in the cooling of the engine.

Filling the cooling system

  • Check the tightness of the coolant drain plugs.
  • Unscrew the air bleed plugs on the radiator and the supply hoses to the heating system radiators (fig. 1.88).
  • Fill the cooling system with coolant through the filler hole of the expansion tank.
  • Close the air bleed plugs as soon as coolant flows out of them in a continuous stream.
  • Start the engine and let it run at 2500 rpm.
  • After 10 minutes, add coolant to the required level.
  • Close the expansion tank cap.

Removal air

  • Allow the engine to run for 10 minutes at a crankshaft speed of 2500 min⁻¹ before turning on the radiator fan (s) (time required for automatic air removal).
  • Make sure that the fluid level in the expansion tank is in the area of the "Maxi" mark.
  • Do not open the air bleed plugs while the engine is running.
  • Tighten the expansion tank cap on a warm engine.
