Pic. 14.4. The place where the heater hose is pinched in the engine compartment
Removal
- When removing and installing heater radiators, all operations are performed on both sides of the vehicle.
- Remove the instrument panel.
- To remove the heater hoses from the front panel, move the instrument panel beam 50 mm.
- Use clamps to clamp the heater outlet and supply hoses in the engine compartment and disconnect the quick-release connections.
- Apply compressed air to one of the hoses to drain as much coolant as possible from the heater core.
- On vehicles with G8T engine with air conditioning, the quick-release couplings of the left-hand heater core hoses must only be disconnected using tool Mot. 1395.
- Unscrew the 2 nuts from the flanges of the bulkhead and plug the holes in the inlet and outlet pipes of the heater radiators.
- Remove the foam soundproofing panel.
- Remove the instrument panel taking into account the following:
- take measures to prevent damage to the interior trim. - move the front seats as far back as possible and close the central ventilation nozzles;
- disconnect the wire of the automatic transmission selector lever lock electromagnet from the brake pedal bracket (Z7X engine);
- after disconnecting the steering shaft universal joint fork from the drive gear, lock the steering wheel using the ignition switch;
- do not loosen the instrument panel adjusting nuts.
- Unscrew the 2 heater core mounting bolts and remove the radiator, pulling it sideways, being careful not to damage the radiator fins.
Installation
- Pre-fill the heater radiator with coolant and close the radiator pipes with the appropriate plugs.
- Reinstall the heater core and secure it with two bolts.
- Install the instrument panel beam.
- Remove air from the cooling system.
