2. Clean the area around the master cylinder reservoir cap and brake line connections thoroughly, remove the cap and pump out the brake fluid from the reservoir. 3. Loosen the reservoir and remove it from the master cylinder.
4. Remove the brake line union nuts and both master cylinder mounting nuts. Note where the individual connections are attached and carefully remove the cylinder.
5. Install in reverse order. Install the sealing ring (see illustration).
3.5 The sealing ring (1) installed on the flange of the master brake cylinder must always be replaced with a new one
6. If the brake booster has been replaced, measure the protruding edge of the push rod at the end of the unit. To do this, measure the distance from the edge of the push rod to the mounting surface of the cylinder, which is marked with an "X" (see illustration). If this value is not 22.3 mm, see Chapter 19 of this section. This distance cannot be adjusted.
3.6 To determine the dimension "X", use a feeler gauge to measure the distance from the end of the push rod (1) to the support post
7. Tighten the union nuts of the brake lines and the cylinder nut to 13 Nm.
8. Install the reservoir, fill the system with fresh brake fluid and bleed the brake system as described in Chapter 18.
