1. Loosen the wheel hub nut with the machine on the ground.
2. Remove the brake clamp and hang it from the wheel beam so that the brake hose is not stretched.
3. Drain the gear oil from the gearbox.
4. On the left side: remove the 3 bolts in the gearbox flange.
5. On the right side: Use a punch to drive out the spacer pin between the drive shaft and the gearbox.
6. On both sides: Disconnect the steering linkage ball joint from the steering knuckles.
7. Remove the upper MacPherson strut lower mounting bolt from the steering knuckle.
8. For some types of drive shafts, the meshed axle journal may be glued into the wheel hub. In this case, the axle neck must be pressed out of the hub with a special puller (fixture T.Av.1050).
9. Pull the steering swivel bearings out and at the same time carefully pull the drive shafts out of the gearbox and, accordingly, the wheel hubs.
10. When removing the shaft, do not allow the hinges to stretch. The maximum bending angle of the inner and outer hinges must not be exceeded. Also, be careful not to damage the hinge seals.
11. The hinges of the new shafts are equipped with protective covers that prevent excessive bending of the hinges. These covers can only be removed after the shafts have been installed.
12. On the left side: clean the bearing surface of the joint seal in the gearbox.
13. Remove the protective cover from the joint closest to the gearbox, and in no case do not use a screwdriver, as the sealing collar can be damaged.
14. Insert the drive shaft as horizontally as possible into the gearbox.
15. Insert 3 sealing collar bolts into the gearbox flange and tighten them to 25 N.m.
16. On the right side: Lubricate the joint slot on the transmission side with grease (Molykote BR2). Insert the driveshaft pivot into the transmission spline and use a drift to center the holes to install the new spacer pins.
17. Install the spacer pins and treat the holes with «Curil».
18. Coat the shaft splines on the wheel side with liquid preservative (For example, «Scelbloc» by Loctite) and insert them into the wheel hub.
19. In the absence of a special tool for installation, the neck of the axle shaft can be tightened using the wheel hub nut. Then loosen the wheel hub nut a little.
20. Install brake clamps.
21. If the gear oil has been drained, refill it.
22. After the car is lowered, manually release and remove the protective covers from the hinges.
23. Tighten the wheel hub nut with the brake pedal depressed to 250 N.m.
