The seat belt system consists of the following elements
1 - conventional seat belt buckle; 2 - seat belt buckle with emergency tensioner; 3 - electrical wire to the emergency tensioner; 4 - seat belt with tensioner and lock; 5 - height regulator; 6 - rear belt with a lock; 7 - electronic control device.
With the center console removed, you can see the control panel (1) emergency seat belt tensioner. It is installed with an arrow, in the direction of travel, so that the pulse sensor can work in time. Number 2 indicates the power connector.
Checking Belt Operation
Your life and the life of the car passengers will depend on the condition of the seat belts in the event of an accident. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you check the operation of the seat belt.
1. Belt Tape Check: Pull the belt completely out of the winder.
2. Wash the contaminated parts of the belt with soapy water, in no case do not use chemicals for this!
3. Are there cuts or tears on the seat belt?
4. Are there loops on the fabric of the belt?
5. Are there places burned by a cigarette?
6. If the above-named damages arose as a result of failure replace a seat belt together with the lock.
7. Stopper action: Try to pull the seat belt out of the automatic winder abruptly.
8. The automatic winder should prevent the belt from being pulled out quickly. If this does not happen, then replace the seat belt together with the lock.
9. If the belt pulls or returns poorly, check the automatic winder.
10. During a test drive at a speed of about 20 km/h, brake hard (only on an empty road without cars moving behind you!).
11. If the automatic winder does not work, then replace the seat belt with the lock.
12. Seat belt buckle: if there are scratches or chips, then replace the seat belt together with the lock.
13. A click should be heard when inserting the seat belt tongue into the buckle. Pull firmly on the belt to make sure the mechanism is locked.
14. Repeat the test at least 5 times. If the device does not work at least once, replace the seat belt and buckle.
16. Unlock: when pressed, the buckle mechanism should release the seat belt.
17. The tongue of the seat belt should jump out of the buckle on its own.
18. Repeat the test at least 5 times. If the device does not work at least once, replace the seat belt and buckle.
19. In case of noise or heavy running, never apply grease!
20. Pivoting bezel and seat belt tongue: crashed plastic swivel bearings (due to the load on the belt during the accident) have small parallel grooves. With normal wear, smooth, striation-free wear marks appear.
21. Check the plastic for deformation, chips and scratches. If the indicated damage is present, then replace the belt together with the lock.
22. Attachment points: Is the seat belt tongue deformed?
23. Are the attachment points on the seat, on the floor of the car, on the interior pillars damaged, is the thread damaged?
24. If the indicated damage is present, replace the belt together with the lock. The attachment points must be repaired by a workshop.
25. In case of damage that appeared during operation, you can simply replace the damaged elements.
