To detect this, a control unit is located under the central console, which starts working when the ignition is turned on. The control unit contains two electromechanical pulse sensors. When hitting an obstacle, the most sensitive of the two sensors simultaneously activates both tensioners. If the impact is stronger, the second sensor activates the airbag gas generator in the steering wheel.
Removal the emergency seat belt tensioner

4. Remove the emergency tensioner from the seat rail (one bolt).
5. When installing, pay attention to the correct position of the power wire under the seat.
6. For safety reasons, check the correct connection of the emergency tensioner in the workshop using the XR BAG device (EL. 1288).
Note: Recommendation: even if the battery is disconnected and there is no power in the control unit, the emergency belt tensioners may be triggered. Therefore, wait until the capacitors integrated in the control unit are completely discharged. This takes about 5 minutes. After the emergency belt tensioners have been triggered, the control unit must be replaced. Therefore, in case of malfunctions, it is best to contact a Renault workshop.
