Removing the dashboard
Removing the dashboard is a rather complicated job that must be done with great care to avoid damage to the interior. Operation is described in chapter Heating and ventilation.
Removing the center console
The figure shows the center console (3) with shift lever collar (1) and fixing screws (2). When installing the console, start these bolts first, then tighten them completely.
1. Carefully remove and pry the shift lever boot from the console using a screwdriver.
2. Remove one screw each to the right and left of the console.
3. Remove the 2 screws behind the gear lever boot cutout.
4. Remove the console by sliding it back and up. At the same time, disconnect the connectors and, if any, the wires of the emergency belt tension control device.
5. When installing, put the console through the cuff of the gear lever so that you can tighten the fastening screw.
