Note: The SRS control unit is located in the center console. Before removing the control unit, lock it using a diagnostic tester. Use only NXR or CUP testers.

  • Remove the gear shift boot from the center console.
  • Loosen the bolts (A) securing the console.

  • remove the center console; the block is located in front of the gear shift lever (Figure 8.69);
  • Loosen the nuts (B) securing the SRS control unit.

Lift the control unit, disconnect the wiring connector and remove the unit.



Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order. The arrow on the control unit housing should point forward. Connect the control unit connector after tightening the mounting nuts, make sure that there is no one in the car, and connect the battery. Open the driver's door, turn on the ignition from outside the car and make sure that the indicator lamp lights up in the instrument cluster.

Note: The control unit connector has special shunts that prevent the system components from being blown up when the connector is disconnected.
