Car radios installed in cars have standard DIN connectors. Special grips are used to remove the car radio.

Removal


  • disconnect the negative cable from the battery;

  • insert the hooks into the holes on the side of the car radio until they snap into place (Figure 8.63);
  • pull the car radio out of the instrument panel using the installed grips;
  • disconnect the contact connectors and antenna cable from the back of the car radio.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Removing and installing speakers



Loudspeakers are installed in the instrument panel, front and rear doors.

Before removing any speaker, disconnect the negative battery cable.

The procedure for removing the speakers installed in the instrument panel:
  • remove the top part of the instrument panel (see section "Body");

  • disconnect the speaker connector and unclip the speaker from the top of the instrument panel (Figure 8.64).

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

The procedure for removing the speakers installed in the front doors:
  • detach the decorative grille from the speaker housing (Figure 8.65);

  • unscrew the four screws securing the speaker and remove it from the housing in the door;
  • disconnect the contact connector.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Removal and installation of speakers installed in the rear doors are similar to those described above.
