- disconnect the negative battery cable;
- place the vehicle on a lift and drain the transmission fluid as described above;
- remove the front wheel from the desired side;
- disconnect the drive shaft assembly from the required side as described in the subsection "Front wheel drive". It is not necessary to remove the shaft completely, you can leave it attached to the hub and disconnect it from the gearbox by moving the hub to the side. Tie the shaft away from the work area so as not to damage the rubber boots;
- remember the depth of the old seal, then remove it by prying it with a screwdriver. Work carefully so as not to drop the seal or its spring into the gearbox housing;
- wipe the seal seat in the gearbox housing and lubricate the working edges of the new seal with clean working fluid for the gearbox. Carefully press the seal using a mandrel, resting it only on the hard outer edges of the seal, into the seat with the working edges inward to the previously marked depth;
- install the drive shaft assembly;
- fill the box with working fluid;
- install the wheel, lower the car;
- connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
