- remove the selector lever as described above;
- remove the air intake duct;
- disconnect the selector cable end from the multifunction switch on top of the transmission. Release the outer cable sheath from the mounting bracket by turning the two locking rings in opposite directions. Do not move the orange ring once the locking rings have been released. If the orange ring breaks during removal, this will not affect the operation of the cable and will not require replacement of the cable;
- release the cable from all fasteners and remove it from the vehicle;
- inspect the cable. No thread breaks, no jamming in the sheath, and no abrasions on the working surfaces are allowed. Replace the cable at the slightest suspicion of damage.
Install the cable in the reverse order of removal. Adjust the cable as described above.
