Removal



1. Apply the handbrake, then jack up the front of the car and support it on axle stands.

2. When working in the passenger compartment, move the drive mode selector lever to position "D".

3. Remove the lever by pulling it up firmly.

4. While working under the vehicle, remove the protective cover from under the drive mode selection lever.

5. Disconnect the cable ends from the base of the drive mode selector lever and from the operating lever on the transmission.

6. Loosen the four nuts securing the drive mode selector lever assembly to the underbody, then lower the assembly. Disconnect the wiring from the lever assembly.

7. Remove the clips and separate the cable from the shift lever assembly and from the transmission.

Installation



8. Install in reverse order. Adjust the cable as described in Chapter 2.
