Note: Before you begin, please read the Note given in Chapter 1.
Removal
1. The speed sensor is located at the top of the left wall of the transmission (see illustration).

2. To remove the sensor, first disconnect its wiring from the electronic control unit (on the left side of the engine compartment).
3. Remove the battery and its mount (see Section 5A).
4. Loosen the mounting bolt and remove the clamp bar, then remove the switch from the transmission.
Installation
5. Install in reverse order. Before operating the vehicle, confirm the wide open throttle position for the electronic control unit using the appropriate Renault equipment.
