Adjustment
All types of vehicles except vehicles with a 1.4-/1.6-liter petrol engine (K4J/K4M).
Attention! Gear selectors must be set correctly. For their installation in the workshops use a special device. However, the installation of rods is possible without such a device, although not quite accurate installation is possible. In this case, you will need the help of another person. Adjusting the position of the rods on vehicles with a 1.4-/1.6-liter petrol engine (K4J/K4M) must be done in a workshop.
1. Place the vehicle on jack stands.
2. Disconnect the return spring from the rod (see illustration).
2.2 Disconnect the brace return spring
3. Remove clamp V from gear selector rod (see illustration).
2.3 Remove clamp V from gear selector rod
4. Engage 1st gear by moving the lever on the box by hand in the direction of the arrow, as shown in the illustration.
2.4 Engage 1st gear by moving the lever on the box by hand in the direction of the arrow
5. Insert the tool RENAULT B.Vi.1133 to adjust the gap (see top of illustration). Feed the tool handle down by about 45°to the stop on the bridge on the gearbox (see bottom of illustration).
2.5 Insert the tool RENAULT B.Vi.1133 to adjust the gap
Attention! If such a device is not available, then pull the lever down and at the same time back, against the direction of the car. To perform this operation, invite an assistant.
6. Press the shift rod to the box body by pushing it from the side, and insert a 3 mm thick gauge into the gap (see illustration).
2.6 Press the switching rod to the box body by pressing it from the side, and insert a 3 mm thick gauge into the gap
7. Tighten, while maintaining this position, the bolt V on the rod clamp with a force of 30 Nm.
8. Remove fixture and gauge.
9. Establish into place a returnable spring of draft of a choice of transfers.
10. Check gap Y again with a gauge. Its width should be within 2-5 mm (see illustration).
2.10 Check gap Y again with a gauge
11. Turn on all gears alternately. They should turn on easily. Otherwise, repeat the adjustment.
12. Lower the car on wheels.
