The pressure regulator is installed on the rear beam of the vehicle. During braking, the rear beam, moving relative to the car, acts on the regulator mechanism through the rod, reducing the braking force on the rear wheels in a given proportion relative to the braking force on the front wheels.
Withdrawal procedure:
- raise the rear of the car and place supports under the body;
- disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery;
- to reduce the loss of working fluid, clamp the hose from the compensation tank with a clamp or seal the tank by placing a polyethylene gasket under its cover;
- take measures against the spreading of the working fluid by placing a rag in the work area. Wipe the pipelines suitable for the regulator;

- remove the governor link by removing the spring clip mounted on the rear suspension beam (pic. 7.8);

- disconnect the brake pipes from the regulator, having previously marked their position (pic. 7.9). Plug the holes from dirt;
Pic. 7.10. Removing the heat shield
- remove the heat shield by unscrewing one bolt and removing the two quick-release fasteners (pic. 7.10);
Pic. 7.11. Pressure regulator mount: 1 - bracket bolt; arrows show fastening nuts
- loosen bolt 1 (pic. 7.11) and unscrew the two nuts of the regulator mounting bolts, shown by the arrows. Remove the regulator from the vehicle.
Attention! Do not loosen the adjuster linkage clamp bolt: if the linkage length changes, the adjuster will need to be adjusted after replacement.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal:
- connect the brake lines to the regulator, setting them according to the marks made during removal;
- remove the polyethylene gasket from under the cover of the compensation tank or remove the clamp from the hose;
- bleed the air from the hydraulic drive of the brake system.
