Removal, installation and inspection of the brake booster (Renault Symbol 1)

Removal procedure:
  • disconnect the wires from the battery terminals and remove the battery;
  • remove the brake master cylinder as described above;
  • remove four bolts and one nut securing the battery heat shield;
  • disconnect the vacuum tube from the vacuum booster;

  • in the car interior, remove the axle from the fork connecting the brake pedal to the push rod by sliding the clamp (Fig. 7.21);
  • unscrew the four nuts securing the brake booster;
  • remove the brake booster;

  • check the adjustment dimensions of the amplifier (Fig. 7.22) and restore them if necessary.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Remove air from the brake system drive.
