Removal and installation the receiver-dryer (Renault Megane 2)

Removal

Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.

Using a filling station, drain the refrigerant from the refrigeration circuitfilling station.

Remove the front bumper and front body panel.

Loosen the bolts securing the pipelines to the receiver-dryer (fig. 8.157).

Disconnect the pipes.

Insert plugs into all holes.

Remove the receiver-dryer by lifting it up.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note: After replacing the receiver-drier, add 15 ml of the specified oil over the volume of oil collected.

Note: Replace the sealing gaskets.

Note: To facilitate installation of the pipes, lubricate their ends with air conditioning oil.

Note: Tighten the pipe mounting bolts (10 Nm).

Note: Charge the refrigeration circuit with refrigerant using a charging station.

Note: Check the air conditioning system for proper operation by running the electric fan at maximum speed.

Note: Perform a leak search.
