In case of repair or replacement of air conditioning system elements, the filter element (cartridge) must be replaced. Without this, after filling the system, the refrigerant will not be dried and acids may form inside the system, which will destroy the air conditioner parts from the inside.

To replace the filter element (cartridge), perform the following operations.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the refrigerant from the air conditioning system (see "Removal refrigerant from the air conditioning system").

3. Remove the condenser (see "Replacing the condenser").

Note: Depending on the condenser version, the hole in the receiver for replacing the filter element may be closed with a plug with a retaining ring or a threaded plug.
