Level check
Checking the coolant level in the expansion tank
The coolant level must be checked in the expansion tank with the engine turned off every 1,000 km of the vehicle. The coolant level should be between the marks «MINI» and «MAXI» on the wall of the expansion tank and should never fall below the mark «MINI». The fluid level changes depending on the engine temperature.
Use only coolant that is a mixture of ethylene glycol concentrate and distilled water. providing engine protection up to - 27°C.
When checking the coolant level, note its condition. The liquid must be clean and transparent. If the coolant is brown or rusty, drain the coolant, flush the cooling system, and refill with fresh coolant
If the cylinder head was replaced during repairs, the head gaskets are flea. radiator or oil heat exchanger, you need to fill the cooling system with fresh coolant. This is due to the fact. that the anti-corrosion additive in the coolant is deposited during engine operation and creates anti-corrosion protection. In used coolant, the anti-corrosion additives are less active in order to form a protective layer on newly installed parts.
Attention. When opening the expansion tank cap on a hot engine, be careful as escaping vapors can cause severe burns. To do this, cover the lid with a thick layer of cloth and slowly unscrew it until a hissing sound appears. After the hissing stops, slowly unscrew and remove the cap from the expansion tank.
