Checking tire pressure

Check the tire pressure once a month or before each long trip. Too low tire pressure leads to increased fuel consumption. It is especially important to maintain the recommended tire pressure when driving at high speeds.

Check the pressure on cold tires. If you need to inflate warm tires, increase the pressure by 0.3 bar.

Note: Be sure to check the pressure of the spare tire.

Checking tire wear

The grooves of the tire tread pattern contain "tire wear indicators" 1.6 mm high located at right angles to the direction of the tire's forward movement. These indicators are from six to eight in number (depending on the manufacturer) are placed at equal distances around the circumference of the tire. Markers on the sidewall of the tire (for example, the letters "TWI" or a pictogram in the form of a triangle) show the location of the tire wear indicators.

(The text is available on this website: RENAULTBOOK)

Tires can be used until the profile depth reaches 1.6 mm. i.e. the profile grooves must have a depth of at least 1.6 mm over the entire surface of the tire
