Malfunction | Her reason | Trouble-shooting |
A. Engine starts poorly or does not start at all. | 1. No spark is produced because the ignition coil or spark plugs are dirty or damp. 2. Loose or oxidized connections. 3. Spark plugs become wet after several attempts to start the engine. 4. The gap between the speed sensor and the flywheel is too large because the sensor has loosened. 5. The speed sensor is faulty, the wire is shorted to the case or broken. 6. Faulty ignition coil. 7. Faulty control device. | Dry or clean, treat with ignition spray if necessary. Check, replace if necessary. Tighten.
|
B. Engine runs erratically, ignition fails. | 1. Faulty spark plugs. 2. Broken ignition wire. 3. See A 1-7. | Replace. Replace cable. |
C. Engine does not develop full power. | 1. Broken or leaking low pressure hose to sensor. 2. Faulty coolant sensor or intake air temperature sensor or plug loose. 3. Faulty ignition module or poor contact. 4. See A 4, 5 and 7 | Check, replace if necessary. Check plug connection, replace sensor if necessary. Check plug connection, replace ignition module if necessary. |
