Central lock servomotor
1 - servomotor; 2 - door lock; 3 - servomotor mounting pin; 4 - lock of the transfer rod to the lock inside the door; 5 - lock of the transfer rod to the device for opening the door lock.
If the infrared receiver is damaged (3) it must be replaced together with the transmitter on the ignition key due to a coding mismatch. However, first check the contact connection (2). To do this, remove the receiver from the socket (1) with a screwdriver.
On Renault 19 models equipped with central locking, all doors and the tailgate can be opened or closed at the same time by closing the driver's door lock or by pressing the infrared remote transmitter button on the ignition key. To do this, each door has small electric motors.
Simultaneously with the closing of the driver's door lock, the other servomotors receive a pulse. Depending on whether the driver's door is locked or unlocked, all other door locks are also locked or unlocked.
Removing the central locking servomotor
1. Remove an internal facing of a door.
2. At the end of the door, unscrew the 3 TORX screws securing the door lock.
3. Disconnect the fixing clips of the transfer rods of the door latch, external and internal lock release device.
4. Remove the servomotor together with the lock from the door box.
5. Disconnect the connectors.
6. Depending on the type of motor installed, unscrew the screw or, respectively, pull out the safety pin and remove the motor from the door lock.
7. Before installing the inner lining of the door, check the operation of the device.
