Shock absorber

Here are some signs that your shock absorbers are starting to become less effective:
  • Vibration of the steering wheel, as the wheels do not have constant contact with the surface.
  • The body sways after driving over uneven surfaces.
  • "Uncertain" movement of the car when turning corners, since the wheels moving on the inside of the curve do not have sufficient contact with the surface and the wheels moving on the outside of the curve are not sufficiently unloaded.
  • Jumping wheels; however, only an observer sitting next to the driver or someone riding behind can notice this.
  • Multiple interruptions in the brake trace when braking to a complete stop due to wheel bouncing (just not on a car with ABS).
  • Uneven or excessive tire wear.
  • Traces of oil on the outer surface of the shock absorber to the lower plate of the shock absorber strut spring. Minor oil leaks are normal.
