The joints between the wishbone and the steering knuckle are maintenance-free.

The ball joint of the joint is located in a grease-filled plastic insert. Dust-proof rubber cuffs serve to protect against moisture and dirt. Dirt that gets inside the joint acts as sandpaper; moisture over time causes rust to form.

1. Turn the steering wheel all the way to one side.

2. Check the hinge cuffs on both sides for damage. At the same time, squeeze the cuffs to detect hidden cracks.

3. Damaged ones cannot be replaced separately, it is necessary to replace the ball joint assembly.

Checking the hinge for play

Checking the joint for play is not included in the maintenance plan. Control is only required for vehicles that have traveled more than 80,000 km.

1. Raise the vehicle so that the corresponding front wheel is off the ground.

2. Grasp the wheel from above and below and rock it in a vertical plane.

3. If there is "play", it is necessary to measure it in a car repair shop and, if necessary, replace the transverse suspension arm.
