The Renault 19 modifications equipped with ABS have a brake pressure control valve in the rear axle for the rear disc brakes. It distributes the brake pressure to the rear wheels depending on the specific load.
The control valve, located on the holder in the cross beam of the body, reacts to the position of the suspension relative to the body under different loads. For this purpose, it is connected to the suspension by means of a long spring. In case of a malfunction, the auto repair shop can carry out work to check the serviceability of the valve.
