Load-sensing brake pressure control valve — general description (Renault Clio 1)

1. On models with rear disc brakes, a load-sensitive pressure control valve is built into the brake hydraulic line. The valve varies the pressure applied to the rear brakes, reducing the risk of rear wheel lockup. It is mounted on the underbody of the vehicle above the rear axle assembly (see illustration).



2. Removing and installing the valve is a simple procedure, but upon completion, special equipment will be required to check and adjust the valve's operation. Therefore, if the valve needs to be removed, have this work carried out by a Renault dealer.
