Removal the starter
1. Place the vehicle on a lift.
2. Disconnect the battery
3. Remove:
- right front wheel:
- intake noise muffler.
4. Work performed on the right side of the vehicle.
Remove:
- drive shaft pin using punch B. Vi. 31-01;
- ball joint of the steering rod end using the puller T. Av. 476;
- the upper bolt securing the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle and loosen the lower bolt.
5. Turn the steering knuckle and disconnect the drive shaft.
6. Remove:
- battery:
- bracket of the electronic control unit of the injection system, having disconnected the connectors of the unit and the connector of the inertia switch;
- primary catalytic converter heat shield (bolts 1);
- oil level sensor connector (2) and move the wiring harness to the side.
- nut (3) securing the positive starter wire terminal and disconnect the connector (4) of the starter solenoid relay;
- starter mounting bolts and remove the starter from below.
Installing the starter
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Make sure that the mounting bushings indicated by arrow A in the figure are present.
Install heat shields correctly.
