Checking windshield wipers (400 km) (Renault Symbol 1)

Over time, a film forms on windshield wipers, which prevents the blade from adhering tightly to the glass and reduces its effectiveness. Wipers should be washed regularly in a mild cleaning solution.

Check the windshield wipers in the following order:

• check the windshield wiper mechanism, tighten its fastening elements;
• check the rubber of the wiper blades for signs of hardening or cracking;
• wet the windshield and turn on the wipers. Let them run for a while and turn them off. Check the surface of the glass - uneven marks from the brushes or streaks on clean glass indicate the need to replace the brushes.

To replace, pull the wiper arm away from the windshield until it locks. Rotate the wiper 90°, pressing the latch with your finger, and slide the wiper off the hook on the arm. Place the new wiper securely on the arm until it locks into place.
