There is equipment for setting the injection timing. The operation of the equipment is based on the conversion of pressure pulses in the nozzle tube into electrical signals. If such equipment is available, use it in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Setting the static injection timing described in this Chapter gives good results. This will require a micrometer with a dial, a probe and nozzle that matches the type of fuel pump, and dowel pins to accurately check the position of the crankshaft (refer to accompanying illustration).
Note. Tool Mot. 1458 is for gear "IAA" and toothed drive belt "HTD". If a belt is installed "HTD2", tool 1358 must be changed, or use tool Mot. 1358-01
