Methods for checking and adjusting injection timing (Renault Megane 1)

Checking the injection timing is only necessary after the fuel pump position has been disturbed.

There is equipment for setting the injection moment. The equipment works by converting the pressure pulses in the injector tube into electrical signals. If such equipment is available, use it in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.



Setting the static injection timing as described in this Chapter gives good results. It requires a dial micrometer, a probe and nozzle appropriate to the type of fuel pump, and dowel pins to accurately check the crankshaft position (refer to the accompanying illustration).

Note: Tool Mot. 1458 is for "MAA" toothed wheel and "HTD" toothed drive belt. If "HTD2" belt is installed, tool 1358 must be changed or use tool Mot. 1358-01
