Air enters the passenger compartment through the ventilation grilles to the legs, windshield and side windows (mainly through the channels of the exterior mirrors) and through the side and central adjustable ventilation grilles. Adjustment of throughput of ventilating lattices is carried out by rotation of the rotary knob. The direction of the air flow can be changed by moving the knob located in the center of each ventilation grille.
Control of the heating and ventilation system with air conditioning
Knob F for adjusting the amount of air supplied to the passenger compartment
To increase the amount of air supplied to the passenger compartment, turn the knob from the -O- position clockwise. In position 0, the heating fan is switched off.
Temperature knob B
Turning the knob counterclockwise: decrease the temperature. To increase the temperature, the knob must be turned clockwise.
Air distribution knob D
By sequentially turning this knob clockwise, the following modes of air flow distribution are set:
- to the central side ventilation grilles of the instrument panel;
- to the ventilation grilles and to the feet;
- to the ventilation grills in the legs and windshield defoggers;
- to the windshield and to the feet;
- to the windshield;
Electrically heated rear and windshields (switch E - car without heated windshield)
When this switch is pressed, the rear window and outside rear-view mirrors are protected from freezing and fogging.
Car with electrically heated windshield
With successive pressing of the switch, the following is provided:
- protection against freezing and fogging of the rear window and exterior rear-view mirrors. When this function is selected, the signal lamp built into switch E lights up:
- protection against freezing and fogging of the rear window, exterior rear-view mirrors and windshield. At the same time, the signal lamp integrated in switch E lights up.
To stop the implementation of the functions, the heating is turned off automatically after the time determined by the system.
To turn it on, press switch E again.
Air recirculation mode (switch G)
The signal lamp built into the switch lights up.
The air is taken in the passenger compartment and then recirculated in the system without outside air supply.
Prolonged use in this mode may cause odors due to the fact that the air is not renewed, and the windows may fog up. Therefore, it is desirable to switch to normal operation with the intake of outside air. To do this, press switch G again as soon as there is no need for air recirculation.
Note. The operation of the air conditioning compressor leads to an increase in fuel consumption, therefore, when the required temperature is reached, it is necessary to turn off the air conditioning mode.
